From the exposure of Uber’s machismo workplace and CEO Travis Kalanick’s downfall, the Weinstein scandal and #MeToo Movement, to Trump’s lifting the ban on imported ivory and opening up United States public lands for drilling, 2017 was a watershed revelation of patriarchal ravages. From Silicon Valley to Washington DC, the grisly underbelly of a hyper-masculinized culture spans industries, sectors and tax brackets. In light of the violations of women, endangered species and the planet, this talk shows the relevance of masculine and feminine archetypes to our current moment. From ancient Asia to Carl Jung and the present, it provides historical and cultural perspective, inspiration and a pragmatic approach to show up as more authentically empowered men and women.
